Building the
Un-Platform.
We believe infrastructure should be invisible, but owned entirely by you. We're democratizing access to enterprise-grade Kubernetes for everyone.
The frustration
In 2022, we were building a fintech startup. We wanted to use Kubernetes for its scalability, but we spent the first 3 months just setting up infrastructure.
We had to choose between Black-Box PaaS (Heroku, Vercel) that were easy but expensive and limiting, or Raw Cloud (AWS, GCP) that required a PhD in DevOps to secure properly.
There was no middle ground. No tool that gave us the "Click-to-Deploy" experience while letting us own the underlying infrastructure.
Our core beliefs
The principles that guide every feature we build.
You own your data
We are not a hosting provider. We are an automation engine. Your code, your databases, and your customer data live in your cloud account, under your legal control.
No vendor lock-in
If Kapten disappears tomorrow, your infrastructure keeps running. We use standard, open-source technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus) with zero proprietary magic sauce.
DevOps is not a job title
It's a culture. But you shouldn't need a dedicated engineer just to deploy a Docker container securely. We automate the repetitive tasks so developers can focus on shipping value.
By engineers, for engineers
Kapten is built by a small, obsessed team of ex-platform engineers from unicorn startups. We've seen scale, we've seen failure, and we've codified the lessons learned.
